CEO and Founder
Allan Hendry founded North Robotics in 2013. He has an extensive background in automation working in factories, oil and gas plants, utility scale power generation, industrial robotic work cells and developing machines as part of a laboratory group. Allan has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Lakehead University as well a Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. As well, Allan is a Machinist and a Journeyman Electrician with an Interprovincial Red Seal Ticket.
Andy’s role is to act as as a strategist and adviser to help manage the development of the company. Andy has an extensive history of starting and growing companies primarily in the energy sector. Andy is an active investor in technology companies and sits on the board of directors for several clean technology startups. As well, he is a special lecturer at the University of Toronto. Andy is a graduate of Queen‘s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Dr. Hein is a recognized expert in the interface between reaction optimisation and engineering design, to allow for commercial chemical manufacturing. Jason has developed new robotic tools to visualize and control reactions as they happen in real time and is focused on optimising selective crystallisation processes that extract high-purity compounds in reaction chemistry.
Lars completed his Doctorate in Chemistry at the University of Victoria in 2017, specializing in online reaction monitoring, and is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia in the Hein group. He is using his experience with the Python programming language and chemistry instrumentation to develop control software and apply the N9 robot to automated chemistry.
Shane holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Victoria as well as a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from Camosun College. Shane has a background in firmware and software development ranging from embedded systems to cloud based enterprise software.
